Since its launch in September 2015, the EHEA Twinning project has arranged more than 100 capacity building events in the format of seminars, workshops, trainings and interviews.
To be more precise, about 30 trainings, more than 30 workshops and around 40 interviews have been organized to update relevant stakeholders about EHEA principles and standards.
More than 570 people from local higher education institutions, Ministry of Education and different stakeholders participated in those capacity building activities.
Meanwhile, the number of participations has been calculated at around 1,260.
Three major universities of the country that account for the largest share of participants and participations are Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan Technical University and Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.
These top universities’ share in total number of participants and participations stands at 36% and 34% respectively.
This fact is not a coincidence as these universities have been selected as pilots for evaluation and their staff has been trained more than any other local university.
The other universities with quite large percentage of participants and participations are Baku State University, now closed Qafqaz University, Azerbaijan Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan University of Languages and Khazar University.
The Ministry of Education can be considered the second largest beneficiary of capacity building activities since it holds 278 out of 1,260 participations or some 22%.
The remaining part, that is, another half of the capacity building statistics belongs to different stakeholders. They include representatives of working life and various state administrations, HEIs in country’s regions, NGOs and public organizations.
Naturally, the capacity building figures will increase further with the upcoming missions.
